  1.                        Welcome to NOTHING BUT .GIFS

  3. Thankyou for purchasing NOTHING BUT .GIFS, the first graphics CD from 17 Bit - 
  4. The Worlds biggest PD library.  On this CD we have brought you over 600 Meg of 
  5. the highest quality freely redistributable, copyright free Gif images, along
  6. with over 26 meg of Compressed tools for various formats.

  8. Are you tired of finding poor quality graphics on CD's?  16 colour images,
  9. poorly digitised images, images that don't display properly (usually 
  10. squashed horozontally or vertically), Images in formats you can't view, 
  11. convert or load into an art package, collections of graphics you have to 
  12. spend hours to find the picture you want, finding the same picture in the 
  13. same drawer with differant filenames. etc. etc.

  15. At last your prayers are answered.  The compilers of this CD have spent 
  16. over 6 months putting this collection together, the aim was to produce a
  17. CD that WE want to use, where quantity meets quality.

  19. These graphics were collected from various sources, including private 
  20. collections, internet (alt.sys.graphics, Aminet, etc.),etc.

  22. At time of compiling we found only two other Gif CD's easily available, 
  23. PD Soft's Gif's Professional and Walnut Creeks Gif's Galore.  We did not 
  24. take any of the content of this CD directly from the two just mentioned, 
  25. any similarity is purely co-incidental.

  28. Please note that when purchasing this CD, you paid for the compiling,
  29. duplication, advertising, packaging, administration and distribution
  30. etc. of this disk.  You have NOT paid for the contents.  Public Domain
  31. software is free, we have not charged you even a penny for all the
  32. contents.

  34. If you use this disk you are bound by the following terms;

  36. 1) The compiler and distributers of this disk take no responsibility
  37.     whatsoever for damage to hardware, software or media through use or
  38.     misuse of any of the contents of this CD.  You de-archive and/or use
  39.     files at your own risk.

  41.    This CD has been checked for all known viruses, trojans and variants
  42.     with the latest versions of the best virus-checkers available and has
  43.     been found completely free of infection.

  45.    The checkers we used are;
  46.  
  47.    - Virus Workshop 4.6 for the disks before we archived them (stored on
  48.       here as .dms and .lha files).
  49.  
  50.    - Virus Checker 6.47 left in the background during compilation.
  51.  
  52.    - Virus Checker used Bootblock.brainfile 1.06 and Bootblock.library
  53.       3.1.

  55. 2) We also make no guarantee whatsoever that files on this CD will do
  56.     what they claim, or what they are intended to do.  Again, we have
  57.     tested practically everything on this CD (which took a while!), but
  58.     there is always a possibility of a rogue file when dealing with this
  59.     amount of data.

  61. Please note that all graphics included require at least the AGA chipset,
  62. some will need more than the standard 2 meg to view.

  64. We have made our best effort to ensure that all data included on this CD
  65. is freely distributable (Public Domain) and that it comprises to any
  66. limitations laid down by the copyright holders.

  68. Some files are distributed with text files, you will find these in the 
  69. utilities/text directory.

  93. Demo in Demo Maniac or Video Tracker etc. (data and executable
  94. appreciated), have some useful source-code (in Assembler, Amos, Blitz
  95. Basic etc.), or anything else that may be of interest to others, please
  96. mail them to 17 Bit's address.  Company Product demos are also very
  97. welcome.  The only rule is the file(s) sent must be freely distributable, 
  98. but you may still retain copyright if you so wish.  All disks will be 
  99. returned, probably containing something similar to what you sent us, 
  100. which we hope will be of interest to you.

  156. The thumbnails on this CD are all in GIF format, so all users can view 
  157. them.  Occasionally you will find an image in a directory that is not 
  158. in the thumbnails, so its worth checking out the menu fully.
